Hello walks
I think it's a lovely idea to give them a gift to say thank you for their hard work over the year............but I wondering whether (being Egyptian) they are Muslim and might not celebrate Christmas?
If they are Muslim, maybe you could give them a gift but not call it a 'Christmas' gift.;)
If you know your waiters well and they've already mentioned what they do in their spare time (hobbies etc), why not try to get them something personal to them?
Failing that, what about a nice watch?
Kind Regards

I wonder if they would like something in the food line? You could go to your local Asian supermarket and see what they've got, I got a lovely big box of dates last time I went and they were cheaper and much nicer than the ones we get in the supermarkets at Christmas. Its something they can share with their families then. You could have a look on google to see what food specialities come from Egypt and see if you can track them down over here. Good luck!

Hi my mum lives out in Egypt and is married to a muslim man, he like anything to do with english football clubs, especially David Beckham also loves our toiletries, aftershave etc and english chocolate, fresh food is cheaper in Egypt by our standards, but imported things such as english chocolate, biscuits things like that are real luxuries that are really expensive my mum takes loads of this kind of stuff back over with her when she visits. Herbs and spices are really cheap over in fact she brings them for me. You could make them an english style hamper up of our chocs, biscuits and dry goods that keep well. hope that is of some help0

When we went to Egypt , the hotel staff seemed interested in my son's branded trainers / mobile phones.
I hear that in Tunisa that Whisky is a welcome gift by many chaps as its so expensive but things seem stricter in Egypt so unless you know it would be welcomed , best not do it as would not want to cause offenceAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -

Remember that chocolate will melt in a hot country like Egypt.;)
If they like our chocolate, buy Minstrels and Smarties. These products have a hard (enteric coating) shell so the chocolate will survive the warm temperatures. I can recommend this choccie option for travel to hot climates.
What about some mugs/pens/key rings with a football team logo on them?10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j :cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. Give blood, save a life. 0 -
