Cheque book out of date

Hi
Can a cheque book be out of date?
Someone just had a cheque returned from me, there was money in my account.
Phoned the bank and they have no record of the cheque trying to be cashed, but he said it might be an old cheque book?
Cheers

I very rarely use cheques and my chequebook still has 19______ for the year in the date.
I just score out the 19__ and put 2006 or whatever and have never had a problem0 -
A CHEQUE can be out of date if someone tries to cash it six months after the date on it.
A CHEQUE BOOK is only out of date if it is for a closed account.Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
All my cheques (besides Lloyds TSB) don't have any information about date printed on them. I cannot imagine how these cheques could be 'out of date', unless the cheque book is linked to the account that has been closed.0

:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0
