problems connecting to internet

Hi, My friend had various virus' on her computer which I managed to clear with the up to date malwarebytes.
Her computer then worked for one day but now she cannot connect to the internet at all. Her homepage came up incorrectly in the header and I managed to clear all of them apart from the last.l Everytime she tried to connnect it comes up with inbox.com and I can't seem to find this in her computer to delete it.
She cannot connect to the internet at all and when she does 3 internet windows open and all say there is no connection. Is it the inbox.com causing the problem?
Any advice would be greatfully appreciated.

Format, re-install. Once you get several bits of malware on a computer you tend to find that once you've removed them then network and internet connectivity goes titsup.

Mind you, it worked for a day. I would say that if she's stupid enough to end up with several viruses already then its not beyond the realms of impossibility for her to do exactly the same again - Inbox "Ooh, photos of Jedward naked! - I wanna see that" - UAC prompts this program wants to make changes to your computer - "Ah I need to click allow and then I can see Jedwards man vegetables <dribble>" Click - p0wned.

Personally if it were me, I'd back up her files and docs to DVD etc and then shove Ubuntu on as she's obviously not security savvy.
  • Can you post the log of malwarebytes on here? In safe mode with networking perhaps?

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Reboot and keep pressing F8 to get into SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING

    Does it connect then?
