Scam O2 transactions on credit card

I wanted to bring this to light today, after checking my statement online I found an O2 prepay £30 slough transaction on my card. This was fraudulent and I reported it to my card provider immediately who cancelled the card and will return my money and investigate. Be sure to check your statements regularly as this is a test amount for fraudsters to then hit you with thousands of pounds worth of purchases.

  • I too have been a recent victim of this fraud! I'm very thankful to the fraud department within my bank Santander who contacted me to say there was unusual activity on my account the very day the transaction was made! The fraudulent £15 O2 prepay transaction was made along with 2 transactions of £1 - described to me as known 'tester' transactions. Now having to wait 10 days for a new card but this is a small price to pay compared to being scammed!
  • I have just checked my online visa as well and O2 payment there for £15 !!!

done on the 23rd november - typically at end of statement so they could have had a field dayif i dont check online banking every day

Im on a contract / direct debit so this is definatley not right

ive cancelled the card and there are 3 other small transactions - my fax?

never bloody heard of them never mind used them

First time I have been done and very very careful with cards ( use a different cc for ebay / paypal ) with a low limit on it
