I can make transfers between my accounts instantaneously, always. I bank with Barclays.
So why didn't u make a transfer to Capital One this way, then it would have been instant as capital One accept faster payments. ?Thanks AMILLIONDOLLARS that seems a good idea. Apparently the delay was due to the cashier putting the ref. no. in the wrong field - but I've yet to confirm this with the bank.
Of course it was! There was no error, you paid too late, over the counter payments to Capital One will take 3-4 days to clear always!0 -
OP; checking your capital one terms & your statement you will say that they state you need to pay 3-4 working days before the due date and you agreed to this when you sign the credit agreement (either digitally, in writing, or verbally).Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Not a premium rate number but one at 4p a minute . . .
Call 1 - Indian Lady (7:23) cost to me 0.28
Call 2 - Indian Lady (10:14) cost to me 0.41
Call 3 - Indian Lady/English Lady (26:14) cost to me 1.04
Would the cost to Capital One have been higher than 6.00? I would have thought so.
Sure, I could pay by direct debit and most of my bills are done this way, but, I'm not a fan of the payment inconsitancies that can sometimes occur. Lets face it, alot of companies (in my experince) are prone to overcharging on occasion.
Then set up a direct debit to pay off the minimum each month and pay the rest using a card/cash etc.0 -
I'm not sure that would work Callum999. I'm sure I've read somewhere that when you're repairing your credit it's important to pay the balance off, in full, on time otherwise it will go against you on your credit file.I don't owe anybody anything and it feels great :rotfl:0

Honestly, I've better things to be doing than making up stories.
I guess I like living close to the edge, it's amazing what you find out. The truth is, I've had the card over 12 months now and every time it's been paid off in full, on time. This is one instance where I've come close to the cut off point yet it's not had any negative impact.
I do appreciate people stating the obvious and suggesting I setup a direct debit, a wise move for some but it's not going to work for me. Due to the way I get paid, I would have to keep moving the DD date around.
I read somewhere that having the card will help rebuild my credit after 12 months of paying the balance in full and on time - I've now done this, so maybe it's time to call it a day and cancel the card. Would I inccur a charge if I was to cancel it?I don't owe anybody anything and it feels great :rotfl:0
