Hi i was declined a cashminder account which they said was due to fraud, i recieved a fine from court last year for fraud by misrepresention due to overclaiming expenses. Is this the kind of fraud they check for because my credit report shows no CIFAS on there.
Do banks search a police database for convictions?

'Is this the kind of fraud?'
I'm not sure that it divides into categories like this. Obviously there are degrees of any crime, but I suspect that banks don't deal with such finesse.0 -
I didnt think the police where allowed to tell anyone about convictions.
Did you tell them?0 -
Are you the guy with the luxury duck house?
Anyway, the CRAs do not know anything about your criminal record....it's one of the things they keep out off.

My credit file is completely clean and I know full well I've never engaged in any kind of fraudulent activity, and I've never had an issue opening an account elsewhere (bar credit scoring, which shouldn't affect the Cashminder application)... yet they think I'm a fraudster or money launderer or something! You can spend the time providing them with whatever documents they pull out of their a*ses to request from you (and then claim was completely useless anyway) but frankly it's not worth your time and money and you'd be better off just going somewhere else!0
