Warning: purchasing food off Debenhams online

Hi there
Twice this year I've purchased gift foods from Debenhams: once in March and once in this Blue Cross sale.
In March the food had a very short sell-by date.
This time I purchased a jar of sweets and the sell-by date was August 2010!!! Two months ago!
When I rung, I was told to take the sweets back to a store and change them... The sweets cost c.£3.50, my bus ticket to and from the store costs £2.40... hardly worth it.
I told them to send out new sweets to me, but they wouldn't do it and said I had to reorder.
I didn't bother in the end...
Just be warned if you are buying food from Debenhams!

Maybe you should check the sell by date before you buy?0 -

Maybe check my post before commenting
, as Sarah says it was online. Even if it was in the store, they shouldn't be selling out of date food. “It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

Thanks. Will they definitely do this, as the woman I spoke to said she wasn't sure...“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”
