Can I claim PPI whilst in a DMP

Hi,
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.

I am considering claiming back payment protection on a Egg Loan. The issue is that I have a Debt Management Plan with my creditors.

Can I still go ahead and re-claim.

Many thanks in advance

Jimmy

You can put a complaint in. If successful though, the funds can be paid to any debt written off first. Then to any arrears.

It is important that if you do it, that you dont use a claims company.

dunstonh has a good point - please don't use a claims company because they will charge you if you win even if your refund has gone to pay off any arrears.
    Good luck Jimmy x

    Hi there

As dunstonh says, do not bother with using claims companies, they will charge and yet if you have a go yourself, they only do the same as what this site does, this way its free, and any refund will be awarded towards the debt, "anything" remaining plus interest is normally awarded directly to you.

Just follow the procedures below, send the reclaim questionnaire or write a letter in your own words, to whoever set up and sold the policy....

Ask for any help if required, good luck.

My DMP is arranged by the CCCS so won't be bothering them with this.
It was my intention to do have a go myself.

    Will give it a go!

Hi there, the cccs are not a claims management co, they just arrange your dmp.(if i am wrong, someone please feel free to contradict) You will have to be honest and tell them you are claiming this back as you owe creditors and these things have a nasy habit of coming back to bite you!. Di and dunston meant dont use a claims company that will charge you 25% plus vat, as you will end up owing them after you win.
