we take a portion of their diet a day and leave it seprate in a treat pot. we then use that for training so we don't have to alter their meals according to how many treats we have used

for kongs, chicken stock is a favorite. block the small drain hole with some chicken and pour in the stock and freeze
    hours off fun :D

    Hi there,

I fill my dogs kong with Tesco Value Chicken Paste! its about 28p and is in the jams and spreads aisle. The also have beef and ham flavours.

I spread the paste around the inside of the kong, top up with small pieces of leftover meat or dry dog food and then seal the ends up with more paste.

Make sure you take the kong filling into account with normal feeds though! :D

    Hi!

I was considering these - I've actually just put a couple on my shopping list - but was unsure if they'd be a bit too salty for dogs..?

Most value products are pretty high in Salt and bulking agents. i can't find any information on the exact salt levels though I have found an ingredient list.

i soak some of her normal dry dog food until it is mushy, then put it into the kong, along with a couple of treats. seal up the ends with peanut butter, than freeze it over night.

it makes them last a bit longer, as she is a master at getting things out of kongs, and other 'clever' dog toys!

I have the same problem. He can empty a Kong in 2 minutes flat no matter how sticky the contents.

    Thanks, much appreciated.

I think, used sparingly, it will be ok now and then.

The things we do for our animals - I've just spent an entire morning planning my shopping list around what Kong-fillers to buy

    :D lol!! :T :rotfl:

I put mashed banana or cream cheese with bits of kibble from his normal burns food in my dogs kong which he loves but maybe it might not be help yours with the soft poops?

or I wedge in a biscuity type bone/treat like these burns Kelties which fit tightly in his (a medium size Kong) makes them last a lot longer than just giving it him normally! ;) They do also have kong biscuits made for this but they are pretty expensive.
