Managed to block myself from using Firefox - help please..

I have just tried to connect to the internet using my Firefox icon and have this message:

# The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
# If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
# If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I think I accidentally clicked on a pop up that asked if I wanted to block it.

Please could someone tell me how to unblock it as I like to use IE and Firefox.

Thanks in advance. :o

It was probably windows firewall, go into control panel, windows firewall, and look to see if firefox is blocked.

Thanks for your help so far.
  • Hi,

firstly, are you using windows firewall, you should have a wee icon in bottom right hand corner?

On my main screen, I have an 'M' in a shield (McAfee I think). I can't see a windows icon.

Thanks in advance for your help. :)
  • Hi,

try a double click on it to open it, then you should be able to find what is blocked.

It says 'Your computer is secure (no action required).'
If I click on the bit that says 'Firewall on' I get a list of features, but I'm still not sure where I should look to see if Firefox is blocked.

    Thanks for helping.
