Finding saving accounts when somone has passed away?

A bit depressing subject i know, and i hope this is the best place for this, basically my mother passed away recently, i am the only beneficary of her estate, I have gone through all of her paper work and it all seems up to date, but how do i know there are current accounts in her name that there is no paper work for? Is there a company that can do a check on this for me?
As you can imagine, i don't think i could face phoning up every bank and building society out there and repeting the details each time.
Any advise most appreciated

Hi
Sorry to hear about your mum.
You might want to read this and try out the links - I haven't had need for it personally but in my last job (Civil Service), I'd give out the unclaimed assets register details if appropriate.
Good Luck with it

Hi Deefadog
Sorry to hear about your Mum, I lost my Mum just over 4 months ago and have a pretty good idea of how you are feeling.
I think this is the link you may need, Looks like its £18 per search.

Thank you so much guyz!
There was no will, i am only beneficary, so next step is probate, then i can get this search completed!
Any tips on the probate - does it take long?
Thanks0 -
Your circumstances are different to mine but this may help if you havn`t seen it already.
