Welcome to the Special Occassions and Celebrations Board
What's it for?
Originally it was born for discussing all things MoneySaving to do with Christmas, Eid, Divali, Chanucah and any other winter festivies (hogmany and more). Yet it was so successful its now going to last all year round to discuss all celebrations and special occassions. Plus when there are major festivals, I may well change its name (ie back to Christmas and Winter festivals) at the appropriate time.

Brilliant. I am slowly trying to plough my way through all the Christmas bits from last year, so this is great to have it all in one area.
Thanks!!0 -
My top ten tips for a perfect xmas
1. Never expect everything to run smoothly-it won't.
2. Never over-spend-however much your kids cry!.
3 Buy all the paper/decorations/card etc in the sales-saves a fortune.
4. Make your own cakes/biscuits - the kids love joining in= free fun!
5. Make home-made xmas presents-the grand parents love it!
6. Giving your kids/family/friends listening/understanding/sharing/time is
priceless.
7. Stress, worry, panic over all the arragements never get rewarded-waste of
time.
8. The card board box the present came is the absolute best thing your
toddler/young one has ever played with!
9. If you are a terrible cook what is so wrong with frozen food? These days
how would they really know? Guilt is transparent.
10. Keep on smiling , it really is only one day a year!:T0 -
Great idea! :T Now I know where to come for some inspiration! Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

What a fab board! I only love the run up to christmas, as the actual xmas is always a nightmare. At last a place we can use those special smilies in the summer time! :xmassmile (okay it's a bit rainy and thundery today, but it's very warm)
PS. I listened to an Xmas CD two weeks ago, had a good old sing along. Was I first? Do I win?
