    £6.00 is a 19.8% saving on £7.48. £2.72 is a 19.8% saving on £3.39.

    There's no scam, usual or otherwise, it's not something to get angry about, it's not worth posting on (the wrong) forum, there's no story, move on with your life and be happy.
