I know its illegal to park on these for obvious reason. But i have a friend to seems to think if they dont have a line through them at the end there deemed invalid and dont need to pay any tickets etc.

What would anyone comment on this, Cause its annoying me im the driver he dont drive lol.

Am I right in saying, if a line has a certain gap between it/broken it is unenforceable?

Easy answer is even if it is technically legal, I wouldn't bother anyway because a) the dy's are there for a reason and for the benefit of all road users. For example outside my flat there is restricted parking one side of the road and there is dy's the other side, if someone parked on the dy's they would cause an obstruction for the traffic. b) some jobsworth will ticket you anyway and you'll have the hassle of sorting it out.

Taking time off work to sort the ticket could end up costing you more than the ticket.

You could take time off and make a claim in court for losses.

Why allow bully boys at the Council treat you like cr*p?

Also, being nice to a parking warden often works, have done it a few times and they have waived it, long as they haven't walked off from your car!

Some are polite, friendly and helpful - once parked on double yellow lines, asnd two parking guys came over, he was very nice and said 'What are you doing parking on double yellows' At the time I was waiting for someone, he said thats fine you can stay here LONG as you want and we won't book you LONG as you do not cause a obstruction which I was not, so was there an hour and a half and was not booked.

But then again, on the other hand some are complete ar*e's and enjoy making others p'd off!

Whilst having no T bars USED to get you off, it is no longer the case. The same with breaks in the lines, if the meaning of the line is still "clear" then the ticket will stand.

There are plenty of other things which make tickets invalid, so always ask for advise should you get one.

Pepipoo is a fantastic site should you find a little present from your council on your car.

Only works if the warden is male and the car owner is female I'm afraid.

You are actually allowed to stop on dy's to pick up or drop off people. An hour and a half's pushing it a bit though!
