Sorry if this is not a right place to ask this question...

I want to buy a private number plate (don't want to pay over the odds - max £250 range)

Any one got any idea where to start?

You got to get through what you've got to go through to get what you want but you got to know what you want to get through what you got to go through.

Either that or eBay. The dealers can have large markups and only act as agents; they rarely own plates they are selling.
My plate was advertised on a dealer site for £4.5k but I bought it on eBay for £2k.
    Can I help?

I got one which was from Northern Ireland for my hubby Desmond from Ebay, the ones registered in England were charging £800+ for DE51 plates, we got DEZ XXXX on ebay for £120 and then had to pay £80 to transfer it to our vehicle.
And yes the lady in the avatar is me

    Hello onlyoneme

I'll move your thread over to the 'Motoring & Public Transport' board, where it should get more views and responses.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

If you paid £150 for it on eBay, then it's valued at £150! That's the great thing about eBay - things sell at their natural level. If you could find somebody who'll pay you £1000 for it then you could say that it's worth £1000!
