is there a cooling off period

i have recently processed a change from scottish hydro to npower sol19 this was completed yesterday. However hydro called me two days ago offering me an even cheaper tariff i agreed but was told i would continue with the swap but hydro would automatically request the swap back so i will be with npower for about a month then back to hydro. Is there a cooling off period when switching which means you do not have to pay the fee for leaving

No the cooling off period is only when you do the initial sale. If you signed up to a tariff with a termination fee you will be requested to pay this.

Hi malky39 - What you have is a verbal offer from Scot Hydro of a cheaper tariff, which unless you are recording all your incoming phone calls is valueless.

If this tariff Scot. Hydro have offered you over the phone is cheaper than the one you have accepted from N'power, you should ask yourself why it did not come up as a 'Best Buy' when you visited the Switch sites.
Before Switching back to Scot Hydro, you must get the full details of this tariff in writing
