White or Ivory????

I am wearing red! I can't carry off pale colours at all! I tried a couple of white/ ivory/ pale gold dresses and they all made me look dead so I went for my dream and got red!
I never wear anything pale - I suit the jewel colours and always have! I have a uniform top whict is white and it drains me so there was no way I was going for white! The woman in the shop told me that a particular shade would be perfect for my colouring - I am not particularly pale so I tried the dress on and walked out and she said - I think we'll go for the red! x0 -
i wear black or grey nearly all the time, but most of the dresses i've looked at have been white.
I'm rather pale - BUT I will have been in Greece for a week before the wedding, so i'm not tooooo worried!saving up another deposit as we've lost all our equity.

Mine is ivory - the choices on the dress I've picked were diamond white (which was a bit dazzling), ivory or a pale blue.
I'm another one whose very pale though and I was never going to be able to wear diamond white.

My dress is a dark shade of ivory, called Pearl and its very flattering. I tried on a white dress and it looked shocking on me but I susally suit white. I think a lot of white i.e. a whole dress is very difficult to pull off even if you usually suit white.
Banbury Bride, have you tried any on? Katherine Allen by the library is very good and had a good selection0 -
My advice would be is to ignore the shop assistants and to try on a white dress and see if it suits you. I went to loads of bridal shops and every one of them said I was too pale for white. They all brought out ivory dresses and gold dresses and the gold looked awful. The last shop I went to, I mentioned this and she said she didn't see why white wouldn't work and went off to fetch a white dress for me to try on and it looked great. She also got me to try an oyster coloured dress and told me that the colour wouldn't suit me either so just to ignore it but once the dress was on it looked really good. I ended up with an ivory dress because that's the one I fell in love with but my point is that you won't know until you try the dress on.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

go dress shopping with an open mind...try on as many as you can in various styles and colours and make sure you see the dress in natural light...The dress I eventually chose was the one that felt the most comfortable and I felt the best in....it turned out to be pale pink so my "ideal" of an ivory dress and lemon yellow flowers with matching bridesmaids turned into a peaches and navy Blue theme.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

I'm abit of a traditionalist and believe in old wives tales etc. I always believed that you shouldn't wear white if you have children, as white symbolises virginity/innocence lol. I was married in white first time round (no Kids) this time im wearing ivory (3 kids) hehe. But this day and age......i don't think it really matters.0

My dress is silk taffeta and it's bright white!!
It was the last dress I would have thought of buying originally, but as soo as I tried it on I loved it!!
I tried on every colour variation, but for me it was the bright white.
My advice s just try on all the colours and go with what suits you best!0
