Interest on zero balance!

Can somebody explain to me why I had a £13.53 interest charge on my last Sainsbury's credit card bill when my balance was £0? 13 Sept 2010 balance was £1659.91 to be paid by 8 Oct 2010. Min payment was listed as £37.34 with "Next months estimated interest" listed as £20.21. I paid of the full balance of £1659.91 on 4 Oct…

With my Virgin card, it said until my September statement date which was basically the 1st September for me. So I paid it off before that and got charged no interest.

On the statement 2 months before my 0% on my Tesco card was coming to an end, it mentioned the date at which I would start to pay interest. Luckily I also paid that off before the date and therefore no interest.
