Bank Travel Insurance

We are a retired couple taking lots of holidays, and we use my Lloyds TSB gold account travel insurance for which I have to keep £2,000 in the account in order not to pay charges. My calculation is that if I got 5% interest on my £2,000 less tax at 20% it costs me £80 per annum for the two of us, and insures us up to age 80. I know Martin says that these accounts are a rip-off but this seems ok to me even without the other account add ons.
