I think you might get into hot water if you put your dog in the FREEZER!:rotfl:
Seriously though our Lab has just been spayed and she is a nightmare, eats everything including her own Poo since the op!0 -
Oh no! Lily is getting spayed as I speak. Hopefully this won't signal worse to come!!!
Great kong ideas too!0 -
Our 1 year old Springer used to like to eat everything and anything but now I find she just likes to chew things.
Her favourite game atm is unscrewing the tops off pop bottles eg fruit shoot. She then 'throws' them and chases them but as soon as she thinks they're too chewed she won't play with that one again.
She loves finding treats left around the house for her, she doesn't half make a noise when she's on 'sniff alert'Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -
Puppies experience the world through their mouths, they have no hands so it's the only way they can pick up anything to find out what it is.
The most common reason that dogs swallow things are because we owners show displeasure and/or take stuff away from them when they try to pick it up.
If a pup picks up a stone or a cigarette butt and gets no reaction from us, he'll just work out that it is of little value and then leave it. If however we remove said item from their mouth we immediately add value and they will become more determined to hang on to it and even swallow it rather than lose it.A dog with a behaviour problem needs help not punishment.0 -
I also have a cavalier (she's 2 now) and she still eats everything, outside and inside. I thought she would grow out of it, but no! She's very excitable as well, so taking her out when it's windy is a nightmare because she chases leaves to eat them! Just be careful about what's lying about on your floor at home, and keep an eye on here when you're outside.
Thankfully she's never eaten anything that's made her sick (she seems to like rabbit poo!)...I agree with a previous poster who said that some dogs will just always eat things.
Good luck though
