Which new Current Account for a couple?

My girlfriend and I have just made the big step of buying a house together and have used this website regularly throughout the process. We want to set up a joint current account to pay the mortgage and bills etc. but are non-plussed about which one is best to choose. I'm currently with HSBC and she's with NatWest but we really don't care who we go with and there's so much choice we don't know what to do! Help!

Joint account is almost no different from a single one. The simplest way is just to open another (joint) account with one of your banks. Otherwise have a read of the Current Accounts article ...0

Thanks Grumbler. It's not so much the 'joint' aspect we're looking at, more along the lines of 'the right/best deal for what we want'. I've already been through the Current Accounts article and it didn't say either HSBC or NatWest were good (I know it didn't say avoid them either) so I was looking for personal experiences of the subject!0
