Selling car...
Hi,
I am thinking about selling my car as i could do with the money to pay off about £600 debts i have.
I have a Renault Megane Coupe, 02 reg, about 55000 miles, black, good condition, e/w, a/c, half leather interior, 1.4, petrol, MOT til Jul 11, Tax due end of Nov, but will put 6 months on for right price, new tyres all round.
I bought this car last year for £2000 and think it's probably worth £1800 now. If i could sell it for this i could pay off the £600 debts and have enough money left to buy another car.
Do you think this is a good idea?? If so, where is the best place to advertise?? Is this a good time of year to sell??
Thanks, M:A

eBay is the best place to sell IMO.
Forget Autotrader - they charge far too much and you will get spam phone calls from those idiots at Cardata and endless emails from scammers.
Are you sure it is worth as much as you think? Did you but it from a garage or private?British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
you'd be very lucky to sell that for 1k, whats it's"worth" to you is totally different in the real market place.0

Try the parkers website, you enter all your cars details, reg etc and this will give you how much to expect to get for it for private sale/part exchange. I find the website very helpful for this as I am forever trading in my cars lol.
Or even put the reg into webuyanycar, they buy the car straight from you, only takes 2 mins to fill this in to get the answer you want...or dont want! You will be surprised how much it has depreciated.
To answer your question though, you can advertise on ad trader and auto trader to get shot of the car...or let webuyanycar take it off your hands.0 -
webuyanycar pay very low prices.
I sold a 2006/56 Vectra C 2.2 SRi Estate to the trade today for £3500 - that was a low price because it has 86k on the clock.
It just needed to go because 'er indoors has been forced to change to a company car, plus there was about £150 of damage to alloys and back bumper (at trade prices) that would need fettling for the forecourt.
RFL had a week left and insurance runs out on Monday, so I wanted it off the drive!
webuyanycar wanted to pay £2800 for car in perfect condition.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

i've been looking for a car and i use 'gumtree' and i check local advertising places like notice boards in shops and community centres. Gumtree is free to advertise and you could advertise it for what money you want and if you manage to sell it great, if not then just keep it, at least you won't have spent any moneywouldn't it be nice if i won : car/cash/family holiday
:j I am a winner! :j
Thank You to all who post and who make this a great site!0
