Sorry.. I may have over reacted a little but it just read wrong.

We can see why she's an ex.
Oh and I remember when I wired up the ignition wrong on my car, reconnected the battery and the starter turns over. Boy was I glad the car was in neutral I'd have looked a right pratt running myself over. Will teach me for sticking my head under the dash struggling to read the numbers on the switch and push the lucar connectors on.
I guess any car (with a clutch switch) could be wired up so the starter only turns when the clutch is down by someone with a little auto-electrics know-how. TBH I'd be more inclined to disable this feature on a car.Or stick with your existing car, but remember what gear you left it in when you parked it0

Need to check my A4 for that.
But for many years, I've had the habit of pressing the clutch to start the car - mainly to ease load on the starter but it's also good for preventing any mishaps.

Thats an awful thing to happen.
I really don't know why people leave the car running for 10 minutes or so to help deice the car. I've even known co workers who complain about having to clean the windscreen with their credit cards because they don't have a scraper in the car and arrive at work half an hour late.
With hubbys car we always take a jug (or two) of room temperature water out to the car and pour that over the windscreen and windows. As long as you don't leave it too long it melts the ice and a couple of minutes later you are ready to go!
(Just don't do what a co workers wife did... put boiling hot water on the car and cracked the windscreen!)0

The problem is not the temp of the water, it's the difference in temp between the car and the water, you may get away with room temp water on a normal frosty morning, but if it's -10 outside you might want to use with caution.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
