Most forums don't reveal IP's to anyone but the moderators/admin.

If I could trust my host not to interfere in my affairs, I'd leave it up and do nothing.

To prevent clueless morons working for ISPs and hosting companies removing your hard work, I'd simply remove the content on Sunday evening, then put it back exactly as it was on Tuesday.

Keep up the good work! :money:

The post has gone from having had around 40 views since it was put up 2 months ago to over 350 views today! It's also been re-posted on here and a friend in the US has copied it to *her* blog as well.

I've emailed my host to ask them to extend me the legal courtesy of 14 days before takedown to give me a chance to see if I can get an injunction. I gather I can get one of these for as little as £30. Also, that I want the full details of the request including the exact wording that is regarded as defamatory and the complainant's argument as to *why* and how this would defame them. I'm actually legally entitled to these...

Note to PARKING EYE own goal I believe.

A little advice once in a hole stop digging!!!!

40 hits a month to 350 a day, and now pasted all over the net, mission accomplished.

Why don't you pick on someone your own size.

I asked my host for an extension to the deadline and information on what text in the post is allegedly "defamatory" - to which I believe I am legally entitled. Their response:
Please be aware that the deadline still stands for Monday 25th October 2010 at 12 noon and we will not be able to extend the deadline since more than sufficient notice has been given.

Please note that as an ISP Provider, we have legal obligations in accordance with the Godfrey v Demon Internet Limited 1999 case law to ensure that all the defamatory posts have been removed, or litigation will be pursued against us not yourself.

We trust that you will remove all posts relating to Parking eye by the deadline specified.

I feel I'm being fobbed off...

374 hits and counting on the article, guys. Keep spreading the word!

Have you asked the nature of these "defamatory posts"? They seem to be acting as judge and jury and seemingly bypassing what should be a legal process in deciding what is defamatory or not.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Trisontana - I have indeed. They are not forthcoming with the information, even though I *think* I'm legally entitled to it. The reply above was to a mail which included that very request. They've just skirted the issue.
