New rear wheel bearing required on VW Golf

been hearing a noise last couple of days so took car into VW garage for a mechanic to have a look. He said that it required a new rear wheel bearing so i went upto the service desk and the chap, once i had booked it in for fitting quoted me £210!? Luckily im still under warranty but besides the point surely this shouldn't have been costing that much should it?

^^ No, but then they make profit whether it's from you or from the supplier, so prices don't change for warranty repairs.

I think you'd better make sure the one on the other side fails within the warranty period too! :D
