Can you open a basic bank account if you have other bank accounts

  • Don't see why not. Yes you can.. I have a business account with the abbey and a basic account with Natwest.

    Yes - it is reccomended to open one if you are expecting trouble eg bankruptcy.

    ..... providing that each bank accepts your application .... you can have as many bank accounts as you wish ....

    Some Basic Bank accounts are subject to a credit check, and some banks have certain exclusions (details on FSA website). Halifax told me that there would be no credit check - also Nationwide.

    My brother is trying to open one and the HSBC said that he cannot have any other bank accounts with any other bank.

  • We have our basic account with the co-op bank they are fantastic and the call centre staff are Fab

    The account i called the cashminder,

    We havent got a branch local but i doesnt matter i can acess the account At any post office and on he internet banking.

    And it alo comes with a Visa Electron ard which we have found is acepted everywhere now thanks to chip & pin well except Debenhams.!!!
