Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone can suggest an insurance that covers
over 55's, pre exsisting medical and ceuise all in one?
I can only find one that covers all three which was All Clrea Travel.
But for everything we needed for a 2 week caribbean cruise it is nearly £3oo!
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Sue.

it really depends on what your 'pre medical condition' is.
most insurance companies will cover most pre-existing medical conditions (sometimes free, others for a charge), other conditions they will not touch with a barge pole.
if you can be a little more clear what medical conditions you want covering, we may be able to give better reccomendations.

Thanks for your replies,
My husband has mild C.O.P.D but he doesn't need oxigen or anything like that.
Also he has back problems, a few years ago he had a disc removed. At the time he couldn't walk, but the operation has left him frairly immobile.
He can walk short distances with a stick but sometimes gets out of breath, and he needs help at the airport. Which as he is registered disabled is eay to get. But it does not of course help with the travel insurance.
Also he takes morphine tablets which also doesn't help.
I have just been diagnosed with a prolapsed disc too. I am waiting for an MRI scan. Then probably will need an epidural of steriods or something.
We are not actually going until March next year. So I am hoping that I will be sorted by then.
But there is no harm in looking into these things even though I know you can't get the insurance until at least 3 months before travel.

Sue.
Not sure what you mean by this. You should get travel insurance as soon as the travel is booked to ensure that you are covered for cancellation in the event of an accident or illness.
What makes you think you can't get it until 3 months before travel?0 -

be very careful with insurance regarding this, as it seems to me as something which is still being investigated, and therefore insurer's may not cover you for this until at a stage where any investigation work is compleate, and the exact nature of any illness is determined.
Please please, whatever you do, please make sure that you disclose EVERYTHING & ANYTHING to the insureres when medical pre-screening. I heve seen far too many cases this year of insurance companies refusing to pay up, mainly because the people travelling have not been 'entirely truthful'.I used to be a Travel Agent Used to be a travel agent for 23 Years, but now out of the industry. Thanks for your replies guy's.
I may be getting muddled up with the 3 month thing.
But I thought that is what it said on all clear travel (or was it on the rail fare site...) which is the best policy I have come up with so far.
I am not going to do it yet however untill I have got my back problem sorted out a bit, because as you say they may not accept me while I am still being treated.
I always include everything now. A couple of years ago we had to cancel a carribean holiday 3 weeks before we were due to go as my husband fell over and broke his ankle. On Valentines day I might add! Anyway we had not declared his back problems or COPD and we were REALLY worried that we would not be able to claim any money back.
Lucky for ud we did get ALL of our money back. we were really lucky. But since then we have always declared ALL medical conditions. as Dave said it is SO improtant.
