Nationwide CC

I have been accepted for a Nationwide CC however as I have had a previous CC with them in the last 12 months they are saying that I will be not given the 0% BT rate or 0% on purchases rate.
Should I
1. Keep the card and see if they offer me any promotions after the 12 months, if so how likely is it that they will offer me some promotional rates
2. Not accept the card, and re-apply after 12 months but run the risk of not been accepting, as there have been 3 or 4 searches on my file in the last 6 weeks
I should also mention that I bank with Nationwide..
Thanks

I have never had any consequent promotional rate from them...
and did you not read the small print? Nationwide is well known not to give new special promotions to past credit card holders.
Edit: Just checked and it seems that Nationwide scrapped that they are no longer offering the special promotions for repeat card holders!! Only 6 wks ago when I was looking for c/card for my OH they did have a note there!!
That is good news for me..
Sorry can't help any further OP. God knows what else Nationwide changed.0 -
I've had a NW gold via for ages and never had a repeat offer from them. Originally I used it for overseas stuff for which now I use PO/Santander.
At 1% it's still better than most overseas, so I keep it as a backup. Since I have a flex account (like you) it's pretty handy that it's on the same website as my online banking. For this reason, where I have CPAs, I always put these through Nationwide Visa - less likely to forget them that way. Most spend I tend to shift depending on circumstances and the deal of the day.
I hadn't noticed that they removed the bit about not repeating intro offers. But if I were you I'd just keep the card anyway, especially if you travel overseas. Plenty of other deals to be had on other cards. Maybe re-think if NW really has changed its policy over intro offers. If they have, then they'll probably start making offers to existing customers also.0 -
Thanks both, I think I will keep and for 6 months and see if I qualify for any promotions..
