I have turned it off manually now as we noticed ur hot water has not run out after 3 days.
Just wondering if our boiler is acting up the last 2 month?
Yes, if the timer is heating the water 24/7 then of course this will push your bill up, it will be using power all the time except when the thermostat kicks in. Normally you would just heat the water for a couple of hours in the morning and evening. Get the programmer checked over.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Ye I think it was definetely stuck on and maybe the thermostat wasnt kicking in correctly. Guess I should get that sorted b4 calling a service engineer for meter.0 -
Ensure you check all this out before the engineer comes out. Some Suppliers charge for Standard Load Tests (SLT) that show the meter is fine.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0

Ok i have had another reading taken, since the last one we turned off all entral heating and our boiler and only turned it on to have a shower (approx 30 mins every 2 days). We have been using a Halogen heater (1.8kw on full power) in the living room to keep warm in the evening.
The last reading we had was for 16 days of electricty and it was 2481. Works out at 155 per day, how is this even possible.
I know know there has o be a problem (dont you agree?), my question is should we be chasing the landlord to sort this? Because OVO want to charge 120 pound to come look at the meter, also I am worried that it may be somethin in the apartment rather than the meter because of all the problems we have had here.
I am so worried about this now, think I have high blood pressure again because of the stress.0 -

Have you tested the meter yoruself? I would turn everything off and then just use something for a couple of hours that I knew the load of. A heater or something. And then see how much it reckoned was used. Or go out leaving just one light bulb on and see what happens.0

We would love to try this but as we have to request access to the meter we cant =C
Still has to be something wrong impossible to use 155 units per day with no heating/boiler on I would have thought, even with it going would be hard pushed unless you had thermostat right up and it on all day and night.0
