Buyers Leaving Negative Feedback

Why do people leave negative feedback without communicating, or using it as a care-free weapon?
I sell a lot of Collectible Cards online, and store them in plastic protectors ensuring they are in mint/perfect condition, even years later.
Sold one card to a guy in France who said the card wasnt perfect. I offered a full refund when he returned the card, but instead he left negative feedback complaining about the quality.
I checked his feedback, and he has a huge history of doing the same to other sellers. I am really annoyed because I have a wonderful record and clean sheet. Is there anyway I can get this removed without his consent?

But leave a clear and balanced reply probably stating what you have mentioned here about your storage and if you have enough room point them in the direction of his feedback.0 -

I totally agree. Feedback can be a nightmare.. I have 100% but panic all the time in case I get a negative. Unfortunatly once it's there is there. There is so little space to leave a reply so think well before you do it.0 -
I'm beggining to find that feedback doesn't really mean squat these days.
You've got: > People who are too scared to leave negs in case they get ones in return Or people who leave a + but with a negative comment,
> People who buy and sell thousands of 1p ebooks to get a massive rating
> Unreasonable people who leave negs before the whole transaction is over (before anything that has gone wrong can be rectified),
> Noobies leaving feeback like 'Where is my item, I paid last night' etc (I'm not attacking noobies i've just had a few of them over the last few months).
AND buyers who don't even bother to read feedback, even if the rating is really really low!
Sorry rant over
You won't be able to get rid of your neg without his consent, BUT do as Hintza says. In time it'll drop off the front page and not look so glaring.

It's ok saying you can leave a good response underneath a negative feedback but usually within days that feedback has disappeared off the page. The feedback will always show the amount of negatives but how many people will scroll back many pages to see the reason or whether you've responded.0

If it helps there is a workaround for the 80 character limit by leaving your feedback at: https://signin.tw.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?SignIn&UsingSSL=1&pUserId=&co_partnerId=2&siteid=196&ru=http%3A%2F%2Ffeedback.tw.ebay.com%3A80%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll%3FGetAndShowTransactions%26item%3D0%26page%3D1%26GetAndShowTransactions%3D%26nflw%3D1&pageType=578.
I'm pretty sure the negative box is the 3rd one along (based on the UK setup).

What is your feedback leaving policy? If you leave feedback AFTER your buyers, you make hasty negatives like this less likely. My TV is broken!
