I have Marks and Spencer insurance for my cat and (thank god) ive never had to claim, but people on this board recommended them a while ago as being reputable. I pay £5.16 per month and have not had any troubles so far! I second not going with cheapy companies though - pet insurance is extremely important and cheap premium always leads to headaches later!
Caveat Emptor!

Not petplan - Marks and spencer all the way. Marks and spencer even have a no excess option, petplan's is £65. Though petplan and M&S have lifetime cover if you keep the policy in force - not all others do. Make sure it will cover an illness for the life of the animal and not just 1 year like Tesco0

I believe M&S have now stopped the "no excess option" for new customers
Many insurance companies now offer the "life Cover", ie Tesco, Direct Line, Halifax, Virgin so you can shop around a bit. I was only looking yesterday for my dog
