im looking for a portable device to load all our dvds on to ,does anyony have any recommendations ?

Do you mean commercial release DVDs? You'll probably find most if not all are copy-protected.

I think Archos used to make some decent storage/playback portables. try a google
EDIT they do, but look under their MP4/vision player section not the new tablet PCs and netbooks they have on the home page0 -
DVDS lots of them with data on you want to keep .
Data you want stored all in one place >>. that goes on a hard drive either a external usb hard drive drive or a hard drive that can stream the data over a network .
