using talktalk modem on plusnet

I have a huawei talktalk modem that I don't need, so want to give to daughter who's just signed up to plusnet to save her £40.
Is there going to be any problems for her to set it up for plusnet, I checked modem was compatible with plusnet so that's OK.
It has password on it.
But do they have any kind of network lock on them?
I do have a disk, but that sets it up to talktalk so not sure if you can get any needed drivers of the disk. Will I need drivers to set it up? Because obviously she wont be able to download them, I would have to put them on a cd and post it.

    Not on Plusnet, but when I was looking to change from Virgin ADSL to them they had a free modem as alternative to wireless router

    Maybe ask Plusnet?

    They're only renting for about 6 months, you had to commit to 1 year to get free modem (they want wireless as well)

    Didn't want to ring because went through Quidco and didn't want to jepordise £38 cashback by ringing them.

    They're not very techie so i wanted to know wether it would work ok.

    Is it a modem or a router?
    AFAIK TT do not lock their equipment, so it will work on a Plusnet ADSL service
    However if it's an old USB modem it is effectively obsolete, connecting your broadband by USB is unreliable and flaky, so don't do it-get a cheap ADSL modem/router.
    You don't need any kind of install disk to set up Plusnet or any other broadband service, you just log into the router web interface and enter your username and password.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
