LaTeX Tables

Options
This may be a long shot (and not money saving related) but I hope there is someone here who knows a bit more about LaTeX than me.

I currently have a spreadsheet in Excel format, which I can easily convert to CSV.

What I want to do is import that CSV file into my LaTeX document and show it as a table in the formatting that I set.

I know that I could easily copy the data into the LaTeX file, but I will need to typeset the document several times, each time with different data in the table so need to be able to update the table based on the contents of the CSV.

I've Googled but seem to have drawn a blank. I hope someone here knows how to do this and can let me know.

Thank you

Note: I've posted it in this board as LaTeX tends to only be used in academia.

  • LaTex is a right pain, isn't it? :) I think what you need is something that can export from Excel directly into the LaTex tabular format, rather than into CSV.

I found this which claims to do just that, but I haven't tried it.

Thanks. The thing on that site didn't really work with Excel 2007, but at the bottom of the page there was a link to Excel2Latex, which has done exactly what I needed. :p
  • Excellent! Another handy thing I found recently is pdfpages, it's a module for LaTex which allows you to insert PDF documents or individual pages of them directly into your own document. I've found it really useful for doing things like appendices, because most of mine are things that I've generated as PDFs (papers I've written, diagrams etc). DOn't know if that'll be any use to you but I thought I'd mention it :)
