Costa bingo idiots!!!!!!!

I got six postcards delivered by the postman yesterday, each showing my home address but six different names.

As we're always being warned about identity fraud, this possibility was my first thought.

The cards were from Costa Bingo, each giving me a different user name and offering £5 free credit.

I emailed the company and got a reply with an "incident number" and a promise to investigate.

Today I've discovered that at least three neighbours have had six cards from them, all in different names, and one old lady took hers to the police station.

I can't believe Costa Bingo could be so stupid as to send out these cards when people are always being warned to be vigilant over identity fraud.

Neither myself or neighbours have ever bothered with online or any other type of bingo by the way.

I don't see how they are encouraging identity fraud - are you saying that these 6 different names are of real people who are using your address?

I got one too, the thing that annoyed me was my username was on it  I've only ever used it once to use the free money they give :rotfl:
  • Sorry, I don't understand. Doesn't all your post arrive with your name and address on it?

We get lots of post to our address with different names on, mainly junk from previous owners. Although the people just before us still haven't changed their mobile accounts, so we get their bills 9 months on!

No, of course all my letters have my name and address on them! These six cards had my address but six different unknown names on them - four female and two male names.

If I get an item of mail bearing my address but with someone else's name on it, and it's not a previous occupier as I bought my house new and have been the only occupier, it's worrying because I thought someone had fraudulently used my address for some reason.

Then when I found out several neighbours have also had six cards with their address and six different names it becamo obvious it's some kind of advertising.

But very irresponsible in my opinion.

Ah - I get you now! It sounds a bit of a weird way to promote their business, so I would guess that there was some kind of error when they printed out their promotional mailings, as I cannot see the possible benefits of either inventing imaginary people or sending offers to people at the wrong addresses. Have you called the company to ask them?

I emailed them and got a reply giving an incident number and a promise to investigate. Now it seems everyone in the road got them too.
  • If I were you bin these.
I made the mistake of joining Costa and fell victim to their dishonesty.
Loads of people are finding themselves victims of this company, who claim to be UK based which is nonsense they are based in Gibralter and are NOT cover by UK gaming laws.
They are closing peoples accounts who are either winning too much or reversely non profitable by not depositing.
Worse still they justify account closures in most cases by accusing these people of fraud and in many cases with holding cash that has been deposited or won.
I am at present trying to get refund from Cassava who also own Redbus Bingo 888 Ladies to name a few.
PLEASE PLEASE BEWARE of this Company
