Hi, dont know if anyone can help me. just heard the new cuts. I understand that couples will need to work 24 hrs to claim wtc but im a single mum - will i have to work 24hrs. lucky to have a job with 16 at the moment their so overstaffed. help! dont really want to spend ages on the phone to tax credits!

The main cut seems to be that childcare reduced from 80% to 70%.
No other detail on tax credits apart from it's being "reformed".0 -
I am in the same position as you but I work 18 hours with no chance of working more.
As I understand it, its only couples affected at the moment, but I am sure our pockets will be hit in one way or another. Hopefully someone will post after me with info that we won't... I live in hope.
If you pay for childcare, you will just get 70% of this allowance now rather than 80%.Putting these winter preps here so I don't forget!
