Supermarket fuel

Has anyone else noticed how supermarket fuel price has crept up over the last few weeks? Oh surprise surprise, they are now offering 5p per litre discount. Not sure i think this is a saving as i rarely spend £50 in one shop so now my fuel is overpriced

Petrol has gone up everywhere not just the s/markets, did you not hear that the price of petrol went by 1 pence and it will go up again by 1p

dont see the vent here, you shop around for cheapest fuel so its not that hard

And it will continue to rise, the French strikes and blockades being one small factor.

Though the good news is a new well came online in the North Sea this week ;)

How you can vent at the supermarket 5p offer defeats me though, considering they are usually cheaper even without applying the offer.

Maybe you hink supermarkets set the fuel prices? They drill for it? They bring it up from the seabed? They refine it? Transport it?

Wait until the 2.5% VAT increase goes on in the new year.......

I bet the price goes up by that much in the month leading up to it so they can keep the same level and say they are absorbing the VAT increase ........

There was a 1p a litre increase in fuel duty this month with another 1p to follow in January. It appears the war on motorists is being stepped up a notch.

Try living in the Northern Isles, paid about £1.30 per litre of diesel a couple of weeks ago!

Our local Sainsburys seems to bump up the price of fuel whenever an offer like this is running. They are very rarely the cheapest anyway so this just makes them even less competitive.

Creeps up just before a 5p promotion most of the time. I tend to fill up when I'm over in the next city since it's usually a couple of pence a litre cheaper over there anyway and I'm passing through a fair bit.
