I don't normally give presents to teachers due to the cost but if it could work out cheap enough...

The gardening basket has given me a few ideas for the next door neighbours I'm trying to get back in the good books with!

There are some recipes for fudge on these older threads:

Thanks tons Pink Winged! I don't know why I'm so completely useless at searching! I did try and search the index before I asked though albeit badly :)

This is the recipe I'm going to use

You could price up the contents on tesco.com to see how much it would cost you.

I used this recipe to make fudge last week as a trial run for Christmas . It's very easy and gives great results. It tasted like really expensive grainy fudge mmmmmmmm.

The only thing is to make sure you cook for long enough and beat until it's thick. The first batch I made didn't set properly so I re-heated it (not sure I should have done but nobody died :o) and it was gorgeous.

I also do cakes for teaching staff. If we have time, the children make them and decorate them. I usually do a 2 egg sponge for teacher and 3 fairy cakes wrapped in cellophane for TAs, Head etc.

Love the idea of fudge though.
