If the pension is as in 'State Pension'? Then that's rather odd. As HMRC normally insist on you completing a P161 when DWP advise them payment of State Pension is imminent (ie a month before the due date). They don't normally do a Code revision prior to that.

Just to confirm that, I am currently sitting on a form P161 for my wife whose State Pension starts in November.
