Help reloading windows

Hi,
I did a search but cant find any reference to my problem.
I have a Mesh desktop that had a corrupted hard drive. I managed to replace this OK but couldn't properly reload windows using disc provided by mesh.
In desperation I got a Ubuntu disc and loaded this OS and it works quite well, however there are things that I cant do/play on this OS and so I tried to use the Mesh disc to reload so that I could use whichever OS I want.
Unfortunately every time I did this windows seemed to load but wouldn't connect to the internet and there wasn't any way to access Ubuntu.
In the end I am running with Ubuntu and nothing else but would like to know if there is any easy way to run both OS's.
Thanks
Paul

Partition the drives..
Load windows on and when you get to the part when it asks you to specify a location you'll have the option to partition the drive.
Split it however you want and load windows onto one partition.
Do the same for Ubuntu and specify the other partiton you created
Hey presto you'll be able to duel boot from the initial start up of the PC
Hope that helpsIf Adam and Eve were created first
.Does that mean we are all inbred0 -

Generally easier to install Windows first and let the Linux manage the choice of boot via Grub.
You don't say which version of Windows but here's a starter.

I have some reading to do

Ok.
Boot the PC and press F12 (Could be different with some PC's)
You'll get an option to boot from a particular device. Put the windows disc in and select "Boot from CD/DVD"
Once windows says it's installing files it'll open a window asking you to choose the country and language you'd like to use - Specify the one you require
You'll get to a part that will say "Specify the location you wish to install windows" or something like that
You'll see 1 or 2 drives labelled C: or
etc
Click the drive and choose "Drive options"
Click format and when thats done select "Partition"
This is the part when you specify the size you'd like.. It's not an exact science and you wont be able to put in say 50gb.. you'll need to put in something like 50000 or more. Experiment until you get the desired size.. If it comes out way too small then delete it and start again.
Once you have 2 physical drives showing up select C: for the windows install and proceed with the instalation.
Once windows has done it's thing reboot the PC and redo the steps above. Ubuntu should give you the option to install alongside windows and select the other partitioned drive.. Install it there and then you will have a dual boot system.. The PC will ask you which OS you would like to run each time you start the machine upIf Adam and Eve were created first

If you can't connect to the internet in windows, make sure all the drivers are loaded in device manager, especially network cards, and if still a problem post more details.!!
