please can someone shed the light on why the HMRC USUALLY STOPPED PAYMENTS when moving from single claim to joint claim
. (1)what will happen to the money that have been paid ealier in the single claim period.?
(2)why writing to said one is not entitled to any money simply because of change in single claim to joint claim.?
please some advise is needed or maybe it happen to you before.
thanks in advance.

they more than likley re doing the claim, and will write to you in due course with new figures etc
they do take ther time upto few weeks, but will back date any money owed0 -
Payments will stop because your circumstances have changed and a new partner could have income that stops entitlement altogether. Until your new entitlement is calculated as a joint claim you will have to wait. The approach seems to be better to back pay entitlement when confirmed than have to chase for overpayments.0

Because you are no longer entitled to the money from the single claim as your circumstances have changed. So they stop this while starting up the new joint claim. If they continued to pay the single claim money that means once the joint claim has been assesed you will then be owed money back to tax credits for money you recieved which you wernt entitled to.0
