Looks like everyone who has a sky credit card or leeds building society credit will now be getting the barclaycard gold mastercard as a replacement as i had my letter this morning as barclaycard are moving away from these cards,mine will be in the post within 3 weeks,did not know barclaycard gold done a mastercard http://www.barclaycard.co.uk/welcome/

I'd never seen a Barclaycard Gold Mastercard before either.

Barclaycard have some weird policies about their card products. I've got a Gold Visa on a very old account (my first credit card, it started off as the original blue Barclaycard before the fad for gold and platinum cards hit). Over time, as my financial situation improved the terms on this account were adjusted in line with their variable rate policies and I now have an interest rate far better than the advertised platinum card rates. I fully expected to get a platinum card at the renewal, just as I got upgraded to gold card without having to ask, yet they still sent out a new gold card on an account that is platinum in everything but name. Not that I care, it just seems illogical.

Yeah i phoned them up after receiving the letter, they said obviously any promotional rates will be carried over,they also said the card come with a APR of 17.9%,i still have my 6.9LOB which ain't to bad

Yep, I think with the exception of the breathe card and simplicity which are the odd ones out every card can be issued under either the Visa or Mastercard scheme.
