Unfortunately I can't trace the BT e-mail message in question - although I have kept a number of earlier messages, such as 'BT terms and conditions changes - please read' (Oct 2008).

However, several BT messages have been discarded when they didn't seem relevant - usually selling things not needed - so I presume that's what happened in this case (the underlying problem might have been spotted earlier if the previous quarter's usage hadn't been distorted by unusually higher phone use).

Anyway we'll see what BT have to say next week about the inordinate increase in unit phone charges.
  • Hi Everyone,
I suggest you read your bills very closely, I found on my bills with BT that I had calls supposed to be in my inclusive calls were listed in my billing and then charged to me.
Even more sinister they vary the rate quite considerably some +250% for calls at the same time of day. I have had lots of issues with BT and these issues are now on my website www dot BTComplaint dot Co dot UK.

I also published videos on Youtube as BadBizUK I have managed to track down many of the executives phone numbers and email addresses which are posted back on on the site under the contact page.

I have also had email conversations with Warren Buckley the so called Managing Director of Retail Customer Services and the whole situation is now part lawsuits against BT. Gladly I am no longer a BT customer and would never ever use them but I am amazed that they're still prepared to SPAM me trying to sell me services.
I have also warned them that legal action will be taken should they continue to email me and send letters offering me services through my door. I hope to help anyone out there with information on BT that will be of assistance to you.

I am the official company representative of BT. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

BT Cancellations have since called following my letter.

The subscription package is being changed to a Broadband (8Mbs)/'Call anytime' variant for 12 months, and there's also a credit re the problem of the overlooked notification for 7pm evening calls (revised from 6pm, April 2010).

The suggestion is that, with the same usage, the bills should be around £90/qtr for the coming 12 months (vs £185 last qtr). In the event of early termination, a cancellation penalty of £14.75 will apply for each unused month.

    Paddy,
Hi Mate I thank you for your assistance but I successfully sued BT, I no longer have an account with them. I pulled all my payments back via direct Debit Guarantee, they then sent me bills demanding I pay via Debit Card. I issued small Claims Court Case against them. They first said they were going to defend the case, Sent there defence which I overcome easily in my response they knew they were going to lose so they paid the bill off and paid the claim stating that they wont admit liability. £1500 says they admit it to me. But they claim to have come up with this for commercial reasons only.
