How long before I get my money?
I recently switched to Scottish Power and gave them my opening reading on 6th Oct. I am currently £230 in credit with British gas and my final bill will only be for about 3 weeks so I'm expecting over £200 to be refunded from British Gas. I gave my final reading on 6th October but BG still haven't issued my final bill. If anyone else has been in this situation with BG, could you give me an idea of how much longer will I have to wait for my refund?

You dont state which fuel. For electricity your new supplier provides the CoS reading to you old supplier who can then produce you final bill and this will not occur until about 10 days after the CoS date. Therefore it mainly depends on you new supplier doing this.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

If you paid by DD and the DD is still open they can refund directly back into your bank account.
Any other combination and they'll send you a cheque which can take a couple of weeks - after the final reading comes through fromt he new supplier.0
