What happens if I write a credit card cheque to myself?

What happens if I write a vanquis credit card cheque to myself to put into an overdrawn account. I am then going to pay off the card at the end of october. Just I have to pay off the last £70 so I can close the bank account. Am I charged an advance fee?

It should be in your T & C but you will get charged interest and you do not have the same safeguards as with the cc. I put a stop to them sending the Cheques allthough they still sometimes do.

I am getting ready to kill the VCC off as unless you have a barclays near you or you can do a Bacs transfer it cost money to pay them.

Even if you pay via the internet into their account, I'm assuming that's bacs?

I am aware of the interest, just wondered if there was a fee as well

cheques are normaly charged the same as cash advance, unless you have an offer

There usually is, you'll have to check your T&Cs. It makes no difference whether the cheque is to yourself or someone else.
