NUS are doing a deal at the moment where if you refer students to get a card you get £1 and some CD vouchers or something like that? I signed up and got a code, was wondering if any of you guys looking to buy a card anyway would mind doing so through this link at all? You just pop in my code below on the link and then follow the instructions, it uses your webcam to take a pic for the card (saving you sending one) and then sends it to your uni for you which happened quite quick for me.

I know my son will be getting one once his netbook arrives this week (it has a web cam) and I'll point this link out to him."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

I'm hopefully doing a French course soon, and I can get an NUS extra card again through that. Can't wait... Top Shop here I come!!! Will have a go with this link too. My webcam isn't very clear though...~If it's cheap cosmetics, fashion or shoes, I want it. Especially shoes. Did I mention I like shoes?~0

Not sure if this is for all institutions or not but you can ask for your ID photograph to be sent to you by e-mail for use for NUS card applications etc.0

I took my own photo at home since my brother's room has white walls.
I'd say it's worth getting if you're unsure, especially since you can get PASS as a form of ID. I have read on TheStudentRoom, though, that some clubs and such won't accept the PASS as ID even though it's proper, but for day-to-day shopping trying to buy age limited items, if you look underage it can be useful.
The card it'self is good, too and will make up the cost over the year0 -

NUS isn't a PASS card, you can't use it for ID.0 -

I don't really like to shop. Most of the shops I go, they don't cover NUS discount. So far I didn't apply yet.0
