  • The reason I agreed the settlement was that they said I could have the bike back. Otherwise I would have just got the repair. The change in valuation is because they know the bike was worth more.

    Concentrate on that side, and get prices to buy a similar bike.
    That's the position you should be in at the end of the day, and aim for compensation for all your time getting to that point. You will find it hard to get compensation for buying another though, as you will now have a list of bikes for sale!

    Agreeing with Mikey on this one, the figures you claim don't add up.

    Can't see them agreeing to pay for the insurance, a total loss was declared and accepted, so the policy had fulfilled its purpose and would need paid regardless.

    Can't see them paying you for looking for a new bike, especially as this would be a pleasure for any biker I know ;)



    But then I can't understand why you would claim for a broken brake lever and scratched exhaust when the xs on your policy looks to be higher than the cost of replacing them through ebay etc.
