Have I made a mistake??

I've gone and bought a refurbished tv from Dixons for DS christmas. It is 22", has a built in DVD player and Freeview. It was an excellant deal and the reviews for the tv are good.

BUT Have I made a mistake buying a refurbished model or should I have got a smaller/less well known brand that was brand new?

UMC - 22/1 22" HD Ready Refurbished LCD TV with Built-in DVD Player

I know it isn't a well known brand but the reviews i've read are good. The only downside seems to be the standby light stays on when the TV is off and it's quite bright but I make sure that his electrical items are switched off at the mains anyway so this isn't a problem.

I only paid £119 with free delivery. When I was searching the cheapest TV/DVD combi from new the cheapest I could find was Tesco at £130 and it was only 19" with no freeview.

I'm hoping i've got a bargain but no doubt some kind soul will tell me I could've got it cheaper :rotfl:I was just worried about it being refurbished, i've never bought something that was refurbished before and dont want to end up having problems because of this.

  • Personally I would have thought you were less likely to have a problem with a refurbished one than a new one, and you still have your consumer rights.
