newly fitted carpet - can i return it?

We purchased some new carpet (4m x 4.5m) from a local shop and paid a price including delivery and fitting. When the fitter had finished we looked at the carpet and it looked fine, so they left. A few minutes later however we saw the carpet from a different angle, from the other side of the room, and saw a thick white mark running the whole width af the carpet. It looks shabby.
Having called the carpet shop dealer, about 30 minutes after the fitter left, he is insisting that he has to refer our complaint to "the rep" who will contact us and make an appointment to come and see the carpet and then make his judgement on what should be done. We are obviously not happy with this. It was a cheap carpet (£5 per metre) but still allegedly new and it should be in good shape. Can we demand a refund?

yes if its faulty, but company policy might say replacement rather than refund, ring and ask what their policy is.0

It doesn't matter what their "policy" is. If it's faulty amd it's been rejected within a reasonable time, which sounds like it has, then the OP would indeed be entitled to a full refund.yes if its faulty, but company policy might say replacement rather than refund, ring and ask what their policy is.0
