bmi American Express and American Express Rewards

I have applied and been accepted for both cards. My question is:
If I spend the initial £250 within 90 days of account opening on the bmi card and qualify for the 20,000 bonus miles, do I have to keep the account open until I have used the miles?
I think overall the Rewards card will be better for my needs so I intent to keep it. I've just bought a house so probably won't be flying to far in the next two years. 20,000 miles is very attractive though and will cover a city break or two which will still be a possibility.
Thanks for any advice.

I dont know about this card as such.
But airmiles bamies and some hotels like to keep the accounts active. So just using the card for petrol say once every few months will kepp the account active. Going back 8 years this was not possible to do on accounts, so many lost points. As you must be aware that using the card for shopping is easier than flying if you are not able to do that.0 -
Soyou would advise keeping the card open until I have used the miles and just spend on it now and then to keep the account active.0

The BMI reward card enrols you in the BMI club.
You can join that club anyway just to look at the flights they offer for points use. It's not that great but might be places you want to go. Basically it's limited and not the full star alliance schedule.
I'd do that before bothering with the BMI reward card. 20,000 airmiles to places you don't want to go to isn't that great an offer. To places you do want to go to it is.I wonder why it is, that young men are always cautioned against bad girls. Anyone can handle a bad girl. It's the good girls men should be warned against.-David Niven0 -

bmi is part of Lufthansa. In time BMI points scheme will become miles and more.
It might be an idea to join miles and more as that is a better scheme.0
